This review comes after a long pause of reflection; I like some Algolagnia's works and his style too (especially the colouring), but his main serie St. Margareta Gakuen is kind of hard to review. It's hard because it's a long serie with many spinoffs, and the contents are weird and somewhat brutal on some issues, much less in others... so I'll return to that after I've decided how to plan it. For the moment you will have to settle for a dip in Mikoshiro Honnin world through one of his softer works, inspired by the manga and anime Strawberry Marshmallow (also widely known as Ichigo Mashimaro).

The really good thing about this book is the fidelity with the original characters, within the explicit compromises asked by hentai, of course. It's so much better when they behave in a likely way, in this case managing to recreate not only the exuberant manners of Miu and similar, but also the light mood topped with a little nonsense. Just think to the original characters finding a sex toy and a porn book in Nobue's room, trying to figure out what is that strange vibrating thing and what's masturbation... you probably would not fall very far from the tree. Well, they really get carried away with their exploration.

The drawings do not resemble at all the original ones, but that's not really a turn down as it's just the reinterpretation of those with his own style. The quartet of young girls is a little more developed and erotic in this form (really? I would never have guessed), the doujin is full color and they're really cute too. We're also teased with some intermission pictures that let our imagination run wild with possible developments, one of those alone is worth the effort to browse the doujin. Too bad that they never came to life in another issue; but they did in my mind. A lot.
