Since we're finally getting into summer, I've thought that a Christmas doujin would be perfect ♡. Don't ask anything. You don't want to know how my head works. Anyway, if you've ever asked yourself why Santa Claus never brought you a present, and your parents had to do his work, the answer is: tentacle monster.
Poor (futanari) Santa-chan is the girl tasked with delivering the children's most wanted merchandise, and she really care about her job. Too bad that winter nights seems to be infested by every genre of tentacular monster that feeds on the juices of cute futanari girls. Probably that's why you parents never wanted that you waited too late for Santa. I'm pretty sure that even if you're not a futanari this would be a shocking experience for a children.
Here we get to see how she failed not only once, but twice in her Christmas deliveries, since this doujin present us two stories that follow the same pattern. Not like I think that it's a fault, actually I would love to read about an hundred variations of such story.
Because every monster has its own charm, and I can't never get tired of them ~
Anyway, let's get to the art. I've found it to be pretty solid and enjoyable, the only negative thing are the faces, since some details there goes wrong on some perspectives, while are really cute on others. And the first page. Seriously. It's terrible. Who the hell has drawn that? My eyesssssssssssss!
Afterwords: Can I have on of those just-a-little-bit-intimidating-with-their-myriad-of-tentacles lovely creatures as my next Christmas present? Pretty please ~

This is our 100th review. Yay! Let me spend some words on this incredible accomplishment, and let me thank all our readers that made this possible. It really seems like yesterday when we began this little project, with all the little big doubts that a new project inevitably brings along. Ok, I'm just trying to add words on the review cause I'm lazy, but since I've already got an extra paragraph let's say that it's enough, and let's talk about today doujin ~
What you get when you mix fishes, sex and simplicity? obviously Otsumami, and it's not a bad result at all.
Actually fishes mean a siren and an octopus, so maybe I'm generalizing a little here but whatever. You live in the sea, you're a fish. You gotta grow legs and live on earth if you wanna escape from generalization.
There's also some Touhou added into the mix, but it's an hentai, you always have to expect some degree of Touhou in it. Wakasagihime is happily swimming in the sea today, when she notice a sealed jar at the bottom of the ocean. It was the sea a while ago, and now it just became the ocean. Live with it. She hopes to find a nice treasure, but she's very lucky and manages to find something even more precious: a giant octopus that rapes her.
What about the art? It's just delicious. I love bold lines, and I love those even more if they're fucking good bold lines. The cute and funny ending is a nice bonus here ♡

Earlier today, while chosing what to review, I was wondering what qualifies something as hentai. It's certainly not the mere presence of sex and even less the simple nudity, or many of the common mangas for an adult audience would be considered hentai (with extreme annoyance of the prudish readers, I'm sure). Perhaps the focus on the erotic aspects is the discriminant, but some of the best hentai manga and doujin have good stories that go beyond that, or doesn't even involve sex. Then it occurred to me that hentai is less a genre and more a simple convention, useful for idiotic people to shame and avoid some topics, and for the others to get easy access to the good stuff. So, even not nude drawings could be considered hentai? In my opinion yes, with the right innuendo and mood, without even showing explicit contents a story could be considered erotic and therefore hentai. I'm obviously talking about the use of the term in western countries, given that in Japan there are completely different conventions. This just to say that the derogatory shade of the term couldn't be more volatile.
Does this argument have something to do with today review? Yes and no. Hiroaki Samura is a great artist well known for his masterwork Blade of the Immortal, a gruesome and superb story of a samurai trying to regain his mortality (yup, that's not a typo), peculiar for the extremely realistic art style of the whole opera. As you can learn from the afterwords in this very book is that Samura, at some point in his career, was obsessed by the desire to boast the title of torture artist; if this artbook is a monument to that dream is for posterity to judge.
What we've got here is an amazing piece of art as Samura's drawing skills leave me speechless. Every illustrations stands for itself as there's obviously no plot, but there are a couple of extremely short written stories and you can sometimes see the progression of a scene between two or three pages. I must warn you that (especially close to the end) contents tend to get rather graphic, switching from torture to explicit gore without warning, but if you can stand hardcore contents -not much worse of what you can see in common mangas like Blade of the Immortal- you should look at this just for its artistic value.
So, is this hentai or not? If yes, even the guro it contains? Actually, I could see this work more accepted outside as a not erotic artbook, since the erotic feeling would make it feel morbid and -for someone- disturbing. Nevertheless there's a lot of people (well, at least I'm sure about one) recognizing and enjoying even the sexual aspects of this masterpiece.
